After a few days of training with FAOFF I find myself struggling with the throttle of my T.16000 Hotas, I just couldn't find the center and that was messing my landings up. So I decided to switch to a dual stick setup (two T.16000s, thanks bro!), and I must say that the landing part is greatly improving! But I still need to build some muscle memory, I'm really slow just processing what movement I must do and with what hand... Anyway, I bought an Eagle and I took it in the middle of a ring system, taking my time to learn to move faster and sharper. Long way to go still, but I'm having fun and the dual stick setup is definitely working for me! TrackIR, Thrustmaster T.16000 (dual stick setup)

Flight Assist Off Coach is a project to make flight assist off more accessible to Elite Dangerous players. This second series of videos are extracts from a Twitch stream where I was joined by commanders - both in game and chat - interested in learning. It breaks down some of the drills for practising FAOff, and discusses some of the logic and mechanics of flying without computer correction. The goal is to continue expanding on this using a similar format - bringing in additional levels of complexity and skill. A lot of these early drills and information will be similar to existing videos, but as the series progresses the aim will be to bring in more esoteric information. Yesterday I had the chance to join CMDRs Sanderling and Barnardo7 in TZ Arietis 3 C, it was both a pleasure and a great lesson! Seening that kind of precise flying so close, trying to stay as close as I could (way higher than them, obviously), was amazing. And so hard for me! Blown up one time, smashed into rocks many times, but it's always the chance to learn something, for example how to recover a spin as quick as you can. Anyway, today I came back to this amazing place, with tight a deep canyons, to try a more controlled and paced flight in these badlands. I scratched my paint here and there, but managed not to crash and I had a great time! Like yesterday, my hands are sore as I'm still not comfortable while flying so close to these walls! I have to be more relaxed (definitely better today as I was alone, compared to yesterday, following those two great pilots!), but hey, baby steps. I'm pretty happy about my flying today!
