The feature list includes seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, one-touch fold function for second and third-row seats, 60:40 seats with integrated armrest and cupholders, a USB port in the middle console box, cruise control, and six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and keyless entry. Mechanically, the vehicle is powered by a new BS6 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine. It generates 161bhp and 360Nm of peak torque. The transmission is handled by a six-speed automatic gearbox and can be had in both 4x2 and 4x4 guise. In Thailand this kind of vehicle is called a "PPV", or Pickup Purpose Vehicle, as it is developed from a Pickup truck. The Isuzu D-Max on which the MU-X is based is a collaboration between General Motors and Isuzu and is related with the Chevrolet Trailblazer/Holden Colorado7. Due to agreement with GM, Chevrolet Trailblazer was released prior to MU-X. However, MU-X was more successful in Thailand due to stronger ISUZU brand reputation even thought there has controvesial about design that almost similar to Trailblazer.
