DISCLAIMER/BACKSTORY: I recently acquired this 1991 Mesa Boogie Triaxis in a sale, I have never owned one prior, so my dialling skills are not that of a wizard as of yet. I understand there are many Triaxis afficionado's out there who have ideas and structures on how they would dial in tone, but again this channel is about being transparent - tone is subjective. You will note distinct tonal differences between the A and B samples and I believe this will be an easy clip to determine which amp is real - however the choice is yours.... I have recently bought a Fractal Audio AXE FX 3, For my own sanity I wanted to see how much better the Axe FX is to the Kemper Profiler. In this video, I compare the Axe fx 3 to its older counterpart the Kemper Profiler. Here's my quick comparison video between Line 6 HX Stomp, Fractal Axe-FX II and a real vintage Marshall JMP tube amp from 1979. Can modelers hold against this iconic amp? All clips are played with Gibson Les Paul Signature (BKP Riff Raff-pickup) Amp settings are identical, no post production or post EQ. I'm using the same Two Notes IR for all clips. Hey guys, if you saw my last video, you know I had a Line 6 Helix in my studio, and I wanted to shoot it out against the Fractal Audio AxeFx 3 I recently purchased! I used the same IR for all the dofferent tones, and all the clips are revamped through the units, so the only difference is the way each unit is reacting to my playing. I tried to keep all the settings for all the amps the same, but something went a little sideways with the mesa, and they are slightly different. whoops! In today's video, I'm looking at the Fractal Axe FX and demonstrating the only patch that I use. In my opinion, there is so much that can be changed with the AXE FX 3 That you can quickly get overwhelmed inside all the different pages. For this reason, I have set up one patch and just use scenes for all of my sounds. For my Presets visit: 🤍 I find these kind of things kind of fun to set up and a good way to see how close or not the Axe FX/FM9 can get to the real thing, especially when the real thing weighs 37kg... The Mesa Lonestar is loaded down with a Fractal X Load, and then is in a loop of the Fractal FM9 (at the time of making this video, the amp blocks of each device are at parity, so this experiment should sound identical whether using Fm3, Axe FX3 or FM9), with the same Cab/Reverb for both Device A and B.
