Industri AC mengalami perubahan signifikan saat di tahun 2014 ketika pemerintah mengeluarkan aturan yang menghapuskan penggunaan R22 karena dipercaya ikut andil dalam merusak ozon di bumi ini. Sehingga sebagai gantinya harus menggunakan freon yang lebih ramah lingkungan yaitu R32 dan R410a. Namun kita tidak perlu khawatir sih buat yang masih menggunakan ac dengan freon R22 karena suku cadang untuk keperluan ac tersebut masih diperbolehkan sampai tahun 2030, hanya saja ac produksi yang baru tidak diperbolehkan lagi diproduksi dengan freon R22. I've answered this question before in 2019. Is R22 Illegal is still one of the most-watched videos on our channel. Some of the main points in that blog were: • Contractors were telling people it wasn’t available anymore and that was wrong because warehouses all around town still had R22. • HVAC companies were telling people they could get fined by the EPA if they continued charging R22 into a person’s system. • That they had to buy a new system because R22 was illegal to use anymore. • That the truth is that R22 isn't illegal. It just can’t be PRODUCED anymore starting in 2020. So any R22 we get these days is either virgin or it’s reclaimed and recycled. • I mentioned by 2030, R22 will likely not be needed anymore. Today’s systems that use R22 will be cycled out of operation likely due to repair vs. replacement that customers face every day with appliances, cars, and other repairs. • As R22 becomes more scarce, the price will skyrocket. Well, here we are in 2022: • R22 is still available • We still can’t get fined by the EPA for using it • There are still options for you. • And yes, the price has skyrocketed.
